Jo is an award-winning radio and podcast producer. She’s been immersed in the audio world since 2001 when she tried out student radio and got the ‘bug’. Fast-forward through community radio in rural Yorkshire, fast-paced talk radio at LBC 97.3 in London, speech and current affairs broadcasting at BBC Radio 5 Live at MediaCity UK to February 2020 when Jo decided to set foot outside of the BBC to ‘go it alone’ (not realising that a global pandemic would be arriving shortly).
In uncertain times Jo has made a name for herself as a creative and adaptable podcast producer and an original content and scriptwriter, who’s reliable, punctual, occasionally funny, and able to put people at ease whilst making the best in audio and written content.
Jo recently won a Silver Aria Award 2023 for ‘Best Music Entertainment Programme’ for My Life for FunKids, and was a Finalist at the British Podcast Awards. The casting, development and creation of the radio programme and podcast were all the work of Jo and her co-producer Joanna, but they put the real credit down to the ten children who were shortlisted to take part. Those kids blew Jo and Joanna away with their ability to record their daily lives, articulate their thoughts and dreams, and come up with a storming soundtrack to go with it. The future is in safe hands!
